Cost-Effective Customizable Indoor Environmental Quality Monitoring System

Poor indoor environmental quality (IEQ) has become a global concern for World Health Organization (WHO), and its impact on health well-being been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. To monitor sanitize air, this study develops cost-effective customizable IEQ monitoring system to detect unhealthy low-comfort air levels. This uses ThingSpeak (MATLAB), microcontrollers (Arduino Uno), various low-cost sensors measure (IAQ) in terms of gas, particulate matter, temperature, sound level, ultraviolet (UV) light. The presented is validated with respect relative humidity, matter benchmarking against Camfil image sensor manufactured AB, Stockholm, Sweden. average error PM2.5 are 0.55%, 5.13%, 3.45%, respectively.
